Traveling For a Poker Tournament
If a person is serious about playing poker, the day is going to come when they are going to want to play in a poker tournament. These tournaments are a way to pit some of the best poker players in the world against one another. The way things are currently set up, many of the tournaments have online qualifiers that the person can use to get into the tournament, but the final round is often played live at a casino. One of the reasons for this is because live tournaments have a different feel than virtual ones. Another reason is because it provides a chance for spectators and fans to watch and spend money in the casino.
Playing in one of these championship poker tournaments almost always requires that the poker player is going to have to think about traveling.
If a fulltilt poker player is hoping to qualify for a tournament that is in a different country, they are going to want to make sure that their passport is in order. The player will not be allowed to enter a different country without the passport. Since approved for the passport can sometimes take months the player is going to want to start the application process as soon as possible. Even if the player already has their passport, they are going to want to make sure that it is not going to expire before the tournament.
As soon as the poker player has won a qualifying tournament they are going to want to start making their travel plans. The earlier they start planning the better. If the person is going to have to fly, they are going to want to make sure that their departure flight is going to be arriving in their destination city well in advanced of the tournament. The person wants to get to the city and have time to relax before they have to start playing. The last thing they want to have to do is run from airport to the tournament.
The player is also going to want to make sure that they have a place to stay while they are in town. The bigger the tournament they are participating in is, the faster rooms are going to fill up. Most players prefer to stay in the same casino that the tournament is being hosted in. Not only does this make things simpler for them, but most of the casinos will offer a special deal on the room price and might even comp it. When the PokerStars player is booking the room, they should mention that they are going to be participating in the tournament.
Before leaving for the event the player is going to want to make sure that they are really ready to go. They need to double check their flight times and give themselves plenty of time to get to the airport. Once they have arrived in the destination city and are checked into their hotel room, they need to make time to visit the poker room that the tournament is being hosted in. After this, the only thing the player is going to want to do is relax and prepare themselves for the big game.

Attaching Labels to Poker Players
Poker players each have their own method for playing the game of poker. Over time regular players have come up with terms to describe the type of player. Knowing the label that is attached to the player will help the other players who are at the table means that they will be able to adjust their own style of play accordingly.
The other Poker players who are at a poker table love nothing more than learning that the new player who has sat down at their table is a fish. A fish is a label that is reserved for players who are incredibly bad players. The reason that the other players love to have a fish at the table, is because this type of person seems to have a knack for making the absolute worst possible calls. A fish is usually are person who loses their entire bankroll and ends up leaving the table angry and broke.
A tight player tends to irritate other poker players. This is a player who has read a few books or watched a couple of instructional videos. This information has managed to provide the player a little knowledge of the game but very little imagination. They play a tight game, but do not use any real sense of strategy. A tight player is someone who is usually able to play very well when they are playing at a table with very low stakes, however when they move to a table with higher stakes and better players, they usually find that they are outclassed.
Players who routinely win hands are often a type of a player who is called a tight aggressive player. What separates these players from the other tight players is their aggression. The other thing that separates them is how well they know to use the hand they have been dealt to their advantage. This type of player usually comes out ahead in the game mostly because they have a very good sense to know what hands they should play, and when they need to fold.
Loose aggressive players can be bothersome at when they are at the table. At first glance this player does not seem to be a great player. Most of the time this is true. The typical loose aggressive player usually wins just enough hands to that they keep playing, but they in the long run they usually loose frequently. Once in a while a person is able to be a loose aggressive player who actually wins most of their hands. This player is rare, but has truly developed their playing style into a legitimate style that allows them to win. A good loose aggressive player is a force to be reckoned with.
The rarest type of player is the hyper aggressive player. This is the player that other players dread. This player is crazy. Other players fear them. The player plays with now fear and makes choices that other players would never dare to take. The hyper aggressive player wins, but usually because the rest of the players at the table are terrified that the player might actually have a monster hand.

William Haughey Identified as Buyer of Peter Eastgate Main Event Bracelet
When poker pro Peter Eastgate’s WSOP Main Event 2008 Bracelet was auctioned off on eBay about a month ago, it sparked off a lot of speculation about the identity of the buyer, which was natural enough in the circumstances but the mystery remained unsolved. That is, until now!
It seems that a famous Scottish philanthropist named William Haughey with poker affiliations has been the one to buy off Eastgate’s bracelet – or so the latest article published on Ekstrabladet.dk seems to want us to believe. The buyer has an interesting background in poker though he is said to have made his millions through his refrigeration company. His largesse for charity donations have brought Haughey a lot of public attention as well as media coverage since he is believed to have given away in excess of $50 million to various charities in the past 5 years alone besides having funded different political campaigns. The other entity to have benefited considerably from Haughey’s generous donations is his favorite football club, the Celtic FC.
The revelation of the buyer’s identity in the article also contained a photograph of the philanthropist with Manchester United manager, Alex Ferguson, who is rumored to be a close friend.
Haughey’s claim to fame doesn’t end with his generous donations. He is also a UNICEF Ambassador and thus, this international children’s relief organization also benefits from his wealth as a recent file photo of its representative Joanne Andrews clearly indicates; Andrews was captured on camera standing with Haughey accepting a check for £100,000. This figure was higher than the amount Haughey paid for Eastgate’s WSOP bracelet in November as he shelled out £94,000 (approx $147,500) for it when it was auctioned.
The article went on to mention that the philanthropist had been moved by Eastgate’s public intention to use his winning bracelet for positive things and wished its auction proceeds to go towards funding efforts of UNICEF. When he had heard about Eastgate’s good intentions he had immediately decided to be its highest bidder, or so the poker pro’s attorney, Claus Nielsen is said to have revealed to the media.
So, though the auction stretching across 10 days had begun at the bracelet being valued for 16,000 USD taking into account the gold and diamond scrap value of the prize ornament, with 116 bids coming in for it, including poker star biggies like “Tony G” (Antanas Guoga) eyeing it for a dog collar, it was destined to be Haughey’s haul, who emerged as the winning bidder eventually.
Apart from an eye to business and philanthropy, Haughy has also shown considerable prowess at EPT side events the same year as Eastgate won his WSOP bracelet; the Scottish businessman also notched up 4 WSOP cash wins, totaling in excess of $275,000 from casual run-ins with the game.
So, though Eastgate was not present for the check presentation for his WSOP bracelet auctioning, he did mention on his site that he was satisfied that his prize would go towards a good cause like UNICEF, which is a credible organization. He also added he wouldn’t regret the decision to auction his WSOP bracelet.

Pure Poker Games Require More Than Skills
Many people make a mistake when they regard poker to be just like any other sport or game requiring skills as opposed to chance for getting a winning result. However, by doing so, they are missing an important point. Granted, skill is a vital part of a good poker game but there is a lot of chance or luck in the game than people give it credit for, not to mention other essential properties that contribute to making poker a real classic.
For one thing, the foundation of the game lies in being able to outsmart opponents; for another, poker wins also depend on the factor of luck, especially in places where all your calculative skills or gaming theory is put to the test.
Learning the rules of the particular poker game one wants to play a tournament in is essential for having applicable knowledge and this is where having a good memory of rules and regulations can help even beginner players to make a smart move.
There are also psychological dimensions to the smart poker game with players knowing the significance and consequences of sitting down to a regular game with 9 unknown people; all of who sit down at the table with the aim of winning the money of the other players – a factor that raises the challenge to another level for newbies. It is important for beginner players on PokerStars.net or those with less confidence to dress comfortably, raise motivation levels for themselves and have some sort of reassuring self-help tactic close at hand (like a favorite drink, lucky charm or even a poker mantra) to give them the necessary boost for playing a strategically planned game. Pro players advise against drinking alcohol, smoking or playing non-stop games – things that may impair good judgment during a crucial part of the game.
Also, social skills are a very important asset of good poker players that can help enhance the feel-good quotient of the game by ensuring fair play and healthy player interaction for an overall sense of achievement and professional gaming.
In games like keno it’s the numbers you pick for your ticket that decides your luck or winning trade whereas in backgammon, there’s a significant luck factor applicable for players that they need to master in order to have an edge, but in poker there is always a certain house advantage that even strong players are limited in their winnings by. So, all poker players hoping to achieve the top level in their gaming skills would do well to remember this distinct house advantage and develop a winning strategy, learn about various hands and calculate odds wisely to allow for more winnings while acknowledging this reality of poker.
The fact is that the PokerStar.com money payoff in poker games not only comes in when it is over but also can be utilized as a smart tool for shrewd play with psychological warfare at work, such as learning to read poker tells and learning about the theoretic overlay of their favorite poker variation to overcome the challenges of skill versus chance in their game.

Becoming a Good Poker Player
There is a lot more to playing poker than just knowing the value of the cards and how to place an appropriate bet. When all is said and done poker is game that is all about people. Good poker players, the ones who always seem to be winning, are every bit as good at reading people as they are at reading the cards.
Good poker players spend just as much time working on developing their observation skills as they do learning the ins and outs of a game. The reason for this is simple. Sometimes the indicators mean that the person is holding a good hand, other times it means that they are trying to bluff their way through.
Some pokerstars players seem to have a natural knack for picking up on the subtle indicators of emotion, but for most, it is something that has to be developed and honed. The best way to hone these skills is to spend lots of time watching and observing people in a variety of different situations. One the individual has identified these indicators; they can use what they have learned to help them while they are playing poker.
The first thing the poker player want to do is figure out which of their playmates has a really good hand. One of the first signs that the person is confident is that they do not seem to be paying much attention to the game. They pretend like they do not care what everyone else is doing. Looking bored is another sign that they are going to be hard to beat.
Since the person is trying to look cool even though the excitement over the hand they were dealt is making their heart pound their hands will sometimes shake a little. If the person knows this, they will try to keep their hands out of sight, at least until the next hand.
While being able to identify when a PokerStars.ru player has a great hand, it is also useful to know when they are bluffing. There are few things that will indicate a bad set of cards. The player who is trying to bluff their way will sometimes hold their breath or make a snarky comment. The more they try to intimidate their opponents, the worse their hand usually is.
Being able to identify other players tells is only half of the battle. Once the player has learned to identify what type of hand everyone else is holding, they also have to figure out how to keep their own hand from the others. The good player will be every bit as good about hiding their own physical indicators, as they are at reading others.

Passports and Visas
If a person has any intention of leaving the country that they were born in, they are going to need a passport. This is a document that contains a great deal of information and will be inspected when a person arrives into a new country and probably again when they are leaving. Even if the person does not ever intend on leaving the country it still does not hurt for them to have a passport which can serve as another form of identification.
Many people make the mistake of assuming that a passport and a visa are the exact same things. This is not the case at all. A passport is simply a form of documentation that allows a person to travel from one country to another. A visa is a document that allows the person so reside in a country other than the one of their birth. Different visas are issued for different reasons.
Some visas are work visas. The rules allowing a person to get one of these can vary from one country to the next. In most cases, the person has to be able to prove that they already have a job lined up for them in the other country. Most work visas are invalid if the person loses their job. If this happens the individual has to be out of the country in a specific number of days.
Other people are admitted into countries on a student visa. This type of visa works the same way as a work visa but it means that the person is only dealing with their education. Many students use a student visa to get into a country and then use that time to look for a job so that they can get a work visa.
If a person can prove that they have an investment in a country, they can be issued an investors visa. This is very common for farmers. A farmer in one country finds someone who is willing to help them start a farm. Once all the paperwork has been filed and the farmer can prove that they have a farm, they can apply for the investor’s visa. This visa will allow them to stay in the country for several years. At the end of the visa they will have to prove that their investment is still valid and apply for another investor’s visa.
It does not matter if an individual is applying for a visa or a passport, there is going to be some paperwork involved, as well as some time. The person needs to apply well in advance. They do not want to wait until they are scheduled to leave to start the application process, which can sometimes take months to complete. When the person is filling out their application for either a passport of a visa they want to read through all the paperwork very carefully and make sure that they are doing things correctly. If the person is denied, they should be told why. Normally the denial is due to a mistake on the application and the individual will have to go through the entire process all over again.
